Caribbean Memorial
Past | Present | Future
Background
Caribbean Memorial was established as a charity to create, design and install monuments and memorials in recognition of British Caribbean Servicemen and women.
It is a Charity with a Board of Trustees and an Honorary Life-Long Patron, Mr Albert Jarrett, age 97, World War 11 Veteran, Royal Air Force.
There are several Caribbean Veterans, many in their 90’s, who are craving to witness the installation of Memorials in their lifetime. These Memorials will be a factual, focal points of interests for everyone, especially our youth who must be educated to learn that their fore parents, not only paved the way for us to be free today, but some gave the ultimate sacrifice, their lives.
Purpose
To advance the acknowledgement and appreciation of the Caribbean community for centuries of military and civilian services to Great Britain and the Commonwealth.
Aims
To install Monuments and Memorials befitting the contributions of Caribbean people to the British Empire.
To inform and educate the general public and future generations of the remarkable stories of sacrifice, bravery, gallantry and courage of Caribbean people; including the sharing of personal stories and experiences from veterans and civilians.
To collaborate with the schools, churches, faith groups, community centres and the general public in various presentation formats to share this part of British and Caribbean History

Benefits
To establish focal points of monuments and memorials for Caribbean people in memory and recognition of past achievements in World War 1 and World War 11, other conflicts, and for civilian services to the British community at large.
To create a legacy project as an educational link to Past, Present and Future generations, promoting a sense of belonging and worth, including developing their knowledge and understanding of the achievements of what their fore-parents did in paving the way for our future.
This will also offer historical and educational value to the world at large.
